Eventbrite Rockets Remodeling Event
to Top of Search Engine Results
Mountain View, CA (Terrella.com) June 26, 2009 – It was a sunny Saturday in May. Nearly five hundred homeowners gathered for BBQ and the chance to meet top construction experts who specialize in California’s iconic Eichler homes. The event was the Eichler Remodeling Faire, produced by Silicon Valley remodeling contractor Keycon, Inc. The turnout was more than double what was expected, and event consultant/ marketer Dave Kalman of Terrella Media attributes much of that success to Eventbrite.
According to Kalman, “Eventbrite rocketed the Eichler Faire to the top five Google results and to #1 on Yahoo search in searches for ‘Eichler Remodeling.’ Only a week after it was created, the event page surpassed related pages that had existed for years.” For this, Kalman credits Eventbrite’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO):
“Eventbrite organizes event data to be search engine-friendly. As you create a new event, Eventbrite captures and labels the information in a consistent way. The data entry fields – such as Event Title, Event Details, When, Where, and Host – make it easy for search engines to index and display event information correctly and succinctly.”
Eventbrite also makes it easy for users to share event information on social networks and other event Web sites, with buttons for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, and social bookmarking sites. This is a critical factor in Eventbrite’s SEO success: search engines recognize that Eventbrite has tens of thousands of inbound links pointing to thousands of event listings. That kind of Web footprint translates into major page-ranking clout.
Kalman says he initially chose Eventbrite for the basic functions of registering and communicating with attendees. For those tasks he found Eventbrite effective and easy to use. It was only later that he discovered Eventbrite’s SEO advantage: “By ensuring great search engine placement, Eventbrite helped make Keycon’s event a tremendous success.”
